This is a perfect question for our budding new councilors to answer
...and one I am not touching with a 10 foot spear. |

Although I'm happy to bring it up at the next council meeting, it's actually pretty easy to answer. The baby inside you shares the same rights as you
do, including citizenship. However since the unborn, like children, do not possess a spirit powerful enough to resurrect on their own, this rarely comes into
effect. It does mean that the murder of a pregnant woman would result in a double charge, and rightly so.
Keep in mind that if your spirit leaves your body, it will leave your baby behind. You will not resurrect pregnant, I am sad to say. The unborn is caught in a grey area, a seperate spirit and thus wouldn't reform with your body during resurrection, and yet possessing a spirit too weak to resurrect on it's own. (Assuming it could even survive the process). Mothers are very precious commodities in our world, and although there may be some who argue against the unborn deserving citizenship, when you think about the fact that mothers resurrect without their babies it's hard to disagree with a double charge of murder simply as a deterrent, even if you disagree with the concept of unborn citizenship. But as I say, I will bring it up with the council. If you have opposing views to what I described above I would suggest you make them here and fast, before the council meeting. Father Celeb |
