You think you are clever by using highly emotional subject like rape to induce sympathy in your audience. You wish the reader to assume that rape is bad, punishing rape is good therefore vengeance is good. It does not work that way. Casuation does not imply correlation. One cannot say that murder is acceptable just because somewhere in all your murdering you happened to murder a murderer. You are not the first to attempt this comparison. It is the final last cry of many a hanged Raze's followers. A brainwash the Church of Raze will try to implant into the minds of the weak and foolish.

Aside from the points the others have made, the problem with vengeance is it has no rules or boundaries. It does not care about innocents or guilt. In fact, in most cases, the innocents become victims caught in the middle. A child plays with fire and burns down your home. A man on the path of vengeance may slit that child's throat and burn alive his parents and whoever happened to be home. As you can see with no checks or boundaries, with no due process or thorough determination of innocents of guilty, a society based on vengeance will quickly decay into anarchy.

I have, in my many years, been witness to countless burned villages, mutilated corpses, dead children, slaughtered wildlife and corrupted forests all in the name of vengeance. The innocents destroyed by the men and women who weakly try to justify their own selfish pursuits by comparing it to justice. It is pathetic and no man or woman of any intelligent will fall for it.

Do you know why there is a forest of undead to the south of us? Do you know why tens of thousands have lost their lives to put this Curtain in place? Why thousands of elves and humans died fighting the first war? Hatred did this. Hatred fueled by the first act of vengeance. Elves and Humans enacting vengeance on one another for what they though the other had done. This is not to say that system of justice is flawless and perfect. But look who has suffered more from vengeance.
